Man arrested after attack with pool stick, knife in Continental

CONTINENTAL - Police arrested a man after he allegedly attacked another man with a pool stick and a knife on Continental's Elm Street before fleeing the scene, according to a press release from the Continental Police Department.


Officers arrested Jeffrey Merritte, 43, of Paulding, for felonious assault without incident at his residence in Paulding County.


The victim of the alleged attack was transported to the St. Rita's Putnam County Ambulatory Care Center in Glandorf by Continental EMS, where he was treated and released. Continental police did not identify the man.


Merritte was transported to the Putnam County Jail and will appear in Putnam County Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Friday.
