Leipsic man in fair condition after hitting stoplight pole

OTTAWA A Leipsic man and his two passengers were as in fair condition at St. Ritaís Medical Center on Sunday afternoon after his vehicle struck a stoplight pole early in the morning.John Stevens, 31, of Leipsic, was southbound on state Route 65 when his vehicle struck the stoplight pole at the intersection of state Route 65 and U.S. 224 at 12:47 a.m. Sunday, according to a press release from the Ottawa Police Department. The Ottawa Fire Department had to extricate Stevens from the vehicle. St. Vincentís Life Flight transported him by helicopter to St. Ritaís in Lima.A pair of passengers in the vehicle, Carissa Vogt, 29, of Ottawa, and Mariah Eitemiller, 21, of Fort Jennings, were transported to St. Ritaís with non-life threatening injuries.The incident remains under investigation.
