LIMA — Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan will hold a town hall meeting at Veterans Memorial Civic Center in downtown Lima on Monday.
Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and Ryan is expected to speak about 2:30 p.m. Weather permitting, the event will be outside, according to the Mitt Romney for President website. All attendees will go through airport-like security and should bring as few personal items as possible. No bags, sharp objects, umbrellas, liquids or signs will be allowed. Cameras are permitted.
Tickets are required. They can be obtained at the Allen County Republican Party campaign headquarters on North Cable Road (the former Blockbuster Video store) or through www.MittRomney.com.
Ryan’s appearance in Lima on Monday kicks off a three-day bus tour across Ohio for the Romney campaign. Ryan will also campaign with Republican presidential candidate Gov. Mitt Romney on Tuesday in Cincinnati. Romney will then travel to Dayton on Tuesday and on Wednesday campaign in Columbus, Cleveland and Toledo.
A counterprotest organized by ProgressOhio and AFL-CIO is gathering at 12:15 p.m. at the corner of West High and North Main streets.
