A man killed yesterday in the city’s most recent homicide died from multiple gunshots.

The autopsy of 20-year-old Joshua Davenport revealed he was shot multiple times, said Dr. Gary Beasley, coroner for Allen County. The autopsy was performed Tuesday at the Lucas County Coroner’s Office in Toledo.

Lima Police Department announced in a written statement Tuesday that Tayvon Brown turned himself into police Tuesday and spoke to investigators.

Numerous attempts to reach police officials Tuesday were unsuccessful and calls seeking answers were not returned Tuesday.

Police were called to the 700 block of Albert Street at 5:30 a.m. Monday over shots fired. They found Davenport shot in a nearby alleyway. He was taken to Lima Memorial Health System where he was pronounced dead.

Brown, who turned 19 on Monday, was listed as “a person of interest” in connection to the shooting.
