LIMA Lima Police Department officers were investigating the homicide of a 20-year-old man Monday, and have a person of interest in the case.

Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Albert Street around 5:30 a.m. in reference to shots fired. They found Joshua Davenport, 20, shot in a nearby alleyway. He was taken to Lima Memorial Health System, where he died.

Police officials would not release more specific information about the incident late Monday.

Lima Police Department detectives were looking for Tayvon J. Brown, who turned 19 on Monday, as a "person of interest." Investigators said he may be driving a white Cadillac. Brown is 5 foot 6 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds.

An autopsy for Davenport is scheduled for Tuesday at the Lucas County Coroner's Office.

Those who may know of Brown's whereabouts were encouraged to call LPD Detective Sean Neidemire at 419-812-3146. All information is kept confidential.

Those with other information about the case can call LPD at 419-227-4444 or Crime Stoppers at 419-229-7867.
