Free medication collection offered Saturday in Lima

LIMA The Lima Police Department and Allen County Sheriff’s Office will hold a free medication collection day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Allen County Children’s Services, 123 W. Spring St.



There will be three additional collection sites from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chief supermarkets: 890 S. Cable Road, 2100 Harding Highway and 120 W. Northern Ave.



The public is invited to drop off old and unwanted medications for free. Medication should be kept in the original container, but the patient’s name should be blackened or removed. Eligible items include prescriptions, liquid medicine, pet medicine, over the counter medicine, medicated ointments and lotions, inhalers, narcotics, samples and vitamins.



Health Partners of Western Ohio, Rader Environmental, Allen County Children Services, University of Findlay College of Pharmacy and Chief Super Markets are helping with the event.
