LIMA — Two more men have been identified as “people of interest” in the shooting death of a man Monday.
Randell Howard Jr., 19, is being held on the charge of obstructing justice and Mikel Johnson, 18, is in custody awaiting sentencing on robbery charges, Lima Police Chief Kevin Martin said.
Howard appeared at a brief court hearing Wednesday and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for next week, Martin said.
The men are under investigation for Monday’s slaying of Joshua Davenport, 20. Davenport was shot multiple times and died during the early hours Monday. Police were called to the 700 block of Albert Street at 5:30 a.m. Monday over shots fired.
Davenport was found in a nearby alleyway. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, the man police labeled as “a person of interest," Tayvon Brown, has been released. He has passed information on to detectives and continues to cooperate in the investigation, Martin said.
