The Ohio Medical Board has formally suspended Mark Wanglerâ??s medical license.The Lima anesthesiologist was convicted last month of his wifeâ??s murder and sentenced to 25 years in prison.This week, the board notified Wangler, 55, that his March 16 conviction automatically suspended his medical license. That was when a jury found him guilty in Allen County Common Pleas court Wangler guilty of aggravated murder in the death of Kathy Wangler.The medical board also notified Wangler that it proposed taking disciplinary action against his medical license based on the criminal conviction.Wangler was notified of the action by certified letter. He has the right to request a hearing regarding the suspension, said Joan K. Wehrle, medical board education and outreach program manager. Wanglerâ??s medical license remains suspended until the board issues a final disciplinary order, Wehrle said.Wangler was transferred March 18 from the Allen County Jail to the Correctional Reception Center in Orient, Pickaway County, southeast of Columbus.
