WAPAKONETA - A Wapakoneta man died when his vehicle failed to yield at the intersection of U.S. 33 and Wapak-Fisher Road at 8:56 p.m. Sunday.

Hiram T. Argo, 79, of Wapakoneta, was pronounced dead at the scene by Auglaize County Coroner Dr. Thomas Freytag.

The Wapakoneta post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol determined Argo, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Uplander minivan, was southbound on Wapak-Fisher Road. He failed to yield to a 2005 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck pulling a trailer, travelling westbound on U.S. 33, driven by Timothy J. Runk, 22, of Defiance, with Stephen M. Runk, 29, of Defiance, as a passenger. Their vehicle struck Argo's minivan on the left side, with both vehicles coming to rest at the intersection.

Both Timothy and Stephen Runk were transported to Lima Memorial Health System by St. Johns Fire Department with non-life threatening injuries.

Everyone involved in the accident wore a safety belt, and alcohol was not suspected in the crash, which remains under investigation.
