VAN WERT — A Middle Point woman was sentenced to six years in prison Wednesday for causing the death of an elderly woman in a crash.
Lisa Hundley, 32, Middle Point, was sentenced on the charge of aggravated vehicular homicide, a first-degree felony. She had pleaded no contest to that charge last month. Prosecutors dropped two other charges in exchange for the plea.
Hundley was the driver of a pickup truck in the Aug. 5 crash at Chenowith Road and Lincoln Highway that killed 90-year-old Geneva Lambert, of Middle Point.
Hundley was driving under a suspended operator’s license and had been “huffing” from a can of compressed air, a state patrol lieutenant said.
Lambert’s vehicle was stopped northbound on Chenowith Road when Hundley broadsided her car, pushing it into a telephone pole. Hundley also had a 13-year-old passenger inside the pickup truck she was driving.
The man who let Hundley use his pickup was charged with a misdemeanor.
