Man accused of rape given another week to consider deal in Allen County

LIMA - A man charged with numerous counts of rape in three counties was given one more week Thursday to accept a prosecutorís offer to plead guilty to two counts of rape in Allen County.



The offer for Travis M. Quinter, 33, is to plead to two counts of rape, and the prosecutor will dismiss three other counts of rape, two which carry life in prison specifications. He has until his pretrial Jan. 24 to make a decision. His case is set for trial on March 18.



Quinter is accused in Allen County or raping two children between November 2011 and March 2012. One child was under 10, and another was under 13, Assistant Allen County Prosecutor Terri Kohlrieser said.



Quinter has pleaded not guilty to eight counts of rape and one count of gross sexual imposition in Auglaize County. He has a Feb. 1 pretrial there, according to court records.



He also is charged with two counts or rape and one count of gross sexual imposition in Mercer County. He has pleaded not guilty and has a pretrial scheduled for Feb. 13, according to court records.
