LIMA - The Allen County Health Department has confirmed the county’s first case of H1N1 flu in a school-aged child.
The child was a middle-school student at a county school who came down with the virus and recovered after a couple of days, said Health Department Director Dave Rosebrock. She has since returned to school.
Rosebrock would not identify which school the child attends.
The unidentified child is the first case of H1N1 officially confirmed in the county since earlier this year, when three college-age victims were identified. In all cases, the infected person recovered in just a few days, Rosebrock said.
