WAPAKONETA - Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon on Wednesday announced that two people have been arrested in connection with a rash of burglaries in Wapakoneta, Waynesfield and Uniopolis.
The incidents occurred over the past nine months, Solomon said. The sheriff said the homes were forcibly entered, and a variety of items were stolen.
Carl D. Raymond II, 32, and Shelby E. Cameron, 33, both who previously lived in Wapakoneta, were arrested as a result of the investigation. Raymond is charged with eight counts of burglary, 12 counts of theft and one count each of attempted burglary and safecracking. Cameron is charged with one count of burglary, three counts of theft and one count of receiving stolen property.
In a separate but related case, Raymond also faces three counts of trafficking in drugs stemming from an investigation by the Grand Lake Drug Task Force.
Raymond is being held in the Auglaize County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail. Cameron posted bail and remains free pending his next court appearance.
