BATH TOWNSHIPA fire before dawn Thursday caused serious damage to a Bath Township house but resulted in no injuries to people. Two family pets were killed, fire officials said.Bath Township Fire Chief Joe Kitchen said firefighters were called to 671 Ford Ave. at 5:41 a.m. on report of a house on fire. Kitchen said the initial reports indicated a woman may still have been inside. It was later determined no one was home. Kitchen said the homeowner, Kimberly A. Archer, was at St. Rita's Medical Center for a matter unrelated to the fire. A dog and a cat, both family pets, were found dead inside the house, Kitchen said.Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze after approximately 30 minutes. Kitchen said the fire appears to have originated at or near the clothes dryer. The official cause has not been determined. The fire does not appear to be suspicious, Kitchen said.Damage is estimated at $75,000, Kitchen said.
