Police seek credit card thieves in Van Wert

VAN WERT The Van Wert Police Department is seeking help from the public to identify a man and woman who used a stolen credit card in town at the end of March.According to a press release, a 52-year-old Spencerville woman reported her wallet stolen from the Golden Corral in Lima on March 31. A man and a woman used a credit card from the stolen wallet later that day at a Van Wert bank, taking money from the victim’s account. The pair then attempted to use it at the Van Wert GameStop store, but the card had already been cancelled.Anyone with information about the case or who can help identify the suspects is asked to call Allen County Crime Stoppers at 419-229-7867, Van Wert County Crime Stoppers at 419-238-7867 or the Van Wert Police Department Detective Bureau at 419-238-4777.
