BATH TOWNSHIPIn an effort to keep the option open, the Bath school board approved Tuesday putting a levy for a new elementary school on the March ballot. The move does not necessarily mean the district will put a levy before voters, Superintendent Dale Lewellen said. It simply leaves the option open. The board will hold another meeting to seek community input on the project at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the high school cafeteria. The board plans to make a levy decision at the end of the meeting. It has to file with the county board of elections by Dec. 7.The 37-year, 5.34 mill bond would fund a $25.1 million elementary school project. The district would then earn $12 million in state credit for a future high school/middle school project. Voters rejected the same levy attempt last spring.
