Report card information online

LIMA — The State Department of Education released the final 2011-12 report cards Wednesday.

While most components of the report cards were released last fall, the official release was postponed pending an investigation into districts that “scrubbed” attendance data to improve their report card results. No local district was investigated, and local data previously released has not changed.

New to this year’s report card are various rankings, including a list of 90 districts demonstrating “High Progress” and “High Performance” while serving a significant number of economically-disadvantaged pupils. The “High Progress” list included Allen East Elementary School and Hardin Central Elementary School in Kenton.

Ohio’s accountability system will change this year. Starting this fall, the state will begin a transition to a new era of district and school performance reporting that will include an A-F grading system.

Report card information is available at www.reportcard.ohio.gov.
