LIMA A train could not stop in time for a man on the tracks Monday, just north of the Bellefontaine Avenue-Kibby Street intersection.

Lima Police confirmed the man died after being struck by a northbound train on the Indiana and Ohio railroad tracks. Police were called to the scene at 4:38 p.m., Lima Police Maj. Chip Protsman said.

Police were withholding the name of the man, pending the notification of his family.

The person driving the train saw something on the tracks but could not stop in time, Protsman said.
