COLUMBUS The 127th Ohio General Assembly updated its standing committees for 2008 and all local state representatives have maintained their assigned positions from 2007.State Rep. Matt Huffman maintained his position on the Agriculture and Natural Resource, Civil and Commercial Law and Health Committees as well as his vice chairman position on the Healthcare Access and Affordability committee. With one year under his belt, Huffman said hell be more in tune with his job for 2008.Now that the orientation has passed and now that Im used to the job, I do have a lot of ideas for 2008, Huffman said.Huffman said one of the highlights of 2007 was his introduction of House Bill 125, which supported the Healthcare Simplification Act. The bill, he said, was so complex, it took nearly 70 meetings to put together.Among his other committees, state Rep. Tony Core will maintain his chairmanship of the Agriculture and Development Subcommittee; state Rep. Cliff Hite will hold vice chairman on the State Government and Elections Committee as well as the Agriculture and Development Subcommittee; and state Rep. James Zehringer will continue to be vice chairman of the Economic Development and Environment Committee.
