ST. MARYS — Members of Midwest Electric recently donated $13,670 to 15 west-central Ohio charities and community projects through the cooperative’s Community Connection Fund.

The recent fund recipients include the following:

  • St. Henry Emergency Squad, $2,960 to buy a new blood pressure machine
  • Van Wert County 4-H Council, $1,000 to help buy a new shaved ice trailer for 4-H fundraising
  • Fort Recovery Athletic Boosters, $1,000 towards the construction of a new student activity/athletic training facility
  • Lima/Allen College Access Program, $1,000 for material and supplies for the ACT prep program
  • Loaves and Fishes, Wapakoneta, $1,000 to buy a new freezer and kitchen supplies for the food pantry
  • St. Anthony Dinner Theater, $1,000 to help a local family remodel a room for their daughter with a disability
  • Western Ohio Educational Foundation, $1,000 for the Academic Excellence Scholarship Program at Wright State University-Lake Campus
  • YWCA of Van Wert County, $1,000 to help the summer food program and the transitional living program for area homeless
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mercer, Auglaize and Van Wert counties, $660 to purchase tickets for the annual Cincinnati Reds Day
  • Mercy Unlimited, Wapakoneta, $550 to buy containers for the Plant-A-row program for fresh produce
  • Van Wert County Fair, $500 to support talent for the Gospel tent
  • Auglaize County Fair, $500 to support talent for the Gospel tent
  • Miss West Central Ohio Scholarship Program, $500 to help with scholarships
  • Auglaize County 4_h Shooting Sports, $500 to buy archery and shooting supplies
  • Niswonger Performing Arts Center, Van Wert, $500 to help underwrite the speaker/lecture series.
