TOLEDO — A Lucas County grand jury indicted an Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections inmate from Sidney on a charge of aggravated murder Monday.
Lawrence Hensley, 43, of Sydney, was indicted in the death of Bradley L. Hamlin, 24, of Mantua, who was found Sept. 20 unresponsive on the floor of Hensley's cell at the Toledo Correctional Institution. Hamlin was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo where he died two days later from his injuries.
Hamlin was serving a 60-month sentence for burglary, breaking and entering, and theft out of Portage and Cuyahoga counties.
Hensley was already serving a life sentence for aggravated murder, kidnapping and felonious assault out of Shelby County for killing four in a 1999 killing spree.
He was transferred to the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville after the September assault.
