LIMA — Two familiar faces are finalists for the superintendent jobs at Shawnee and Delphos schools.

Former Perry schools Superintendent Mike Lamb is one of two the Shawnee board will bring back for second interviews. Delphos school board members will also bring back two, including Ottawa schools Superintendent Kevin Brinkman.

Fifteen people applied for each job, with the boards bringing in a handful to interview. Shawnee is replacing Paul Nardini, who will retire at the end of June. Frank Sukup has been serving as interim superintendent at Delphos since September 2011.

Lamb has served as superintendent of McComb schools in Hancock County since 2007. He was superintendent at Perry schools for 20 years, serving as the high school principal the previous five years. A graduate of Bath High School, he began his career teaching English at Apollo Career Center and then was assistant principal at Columbus Grove High School. He still lives in the Shawnee school district.

The Shawnee board will also talk to Vicki Brunn, human resource director at Talawanda schools in Oxford in southern Ohio. She served as high school principal there from 2006 until taking her current position last year. Brunn previously was a teacher, social students department chairwoman and freshmen principal at Findlay High School. She also taught at St. Wendelin High School in Fostoria.

“There are the two the board felt had interviewed the best and provided the best opportuntity for the district to move forward,” Nardini said.

Brinkman became Ottawa superintendent in 2004. He previously had been director of business and education affairs. Brinkman was a teacher and assistant principal in Elida, a middle school principal in Shawnee and the principal of Glandorf elementary before assuming the business managers’ post in 1998.

The Delphos board will also meet with Kevin Wolfe, who is in his third year as seventh- through 12th-grade principal at Ayersville schools. He was previously an assistant principal at Sidney schools. Wolfe began his career in 1994 teaching at Kenton schools and then moved into an administrator liaison job. He also served as associate athletic director.

The Shawnee second interviews will be in two weeks, Nardini said. The board wants to hire someone by the end of the month. The Delphos board will interview at 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. There will be no vote Tuesday, Treasurer Brad Rostorfer said.
