REYNDOLDSBURG -- In order to “set the record straight” about the issues affecting farmers and help ensure that policies and programs are based on accurate, real-world data, the U.S. Department of Agriculture will be surveying 350 Ohio farms by mail and/or in person through March, as part of its annual Agricultural Resource Management Survey. Producers will be asked to provide data on their operating expenditures, production costs and household characteristics. Survey responses will be compiled and the department’s National Agricultural Statistics Service will publish the farm economic data in the annual Farm Production Expenditures report to be released Aug. 7. Information provided by respondents is confidential by law.Reports are available online at www.nass.usda.gov.
