LIMA — An early Easter house fire destroyed one house and caught a neighboring house on fire.
The initial fire that started at 1 a.m. destroyed a house at 433 W. Kibby St. The fire spread to the neighbor’s house, several feet away at 435 W. Kibby St., said Ed Hower, a battalion chief for the Lima Fire Department.
No one was injured in either fire. The original fire remains under investigation, Hower said.
The house at 433 W. Kibby St. is owned by Eddie Pritchett Jr., who purchased it five years ago. The home at 435 W. Kibby St. is owned by Anthony Henderson, who bought it in 1999, according to county records.
Pritchett’s house was valued at $24,000. Henderson’s home had a damage estimate of $12,000, which occurred to the outside of the home and a second-floor bedroom, Hower said.
