Basketball hoops outlawed near roadway

limaLima City Council unanamously passed an ordinance allowing Lima police to issue citations for personal recreation equipment in the public right-of-way.The recreational equipment includes roller skates, skateboards and basketball hoops. The right-of-way consists of the area between the sidewalk and the curb. Councilwoman Teresa Adams said a problem with basketball hoops near the end of driveways, causing teenagers and young adults to be in the street obstructing traffic sparked the city ordinance.
