SANDUSKY COUNTY - A Lima woman died Friday when a man driving a van crossed the center line and collided with her car.

Carlla A. Dixon-Bowers, 49, of Lima, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. John L. Clark, 56, of Huron, also died from injuries sustained in the crash, the Fremont post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.

The crash happened at 4:30 p.m. Friday on U.S. 6, just east of county Road 32 in Scott Township. The crash closed the highway for three hours, state patrol reported.

Clark drove west on U.S. 6 when he crossed the center line and struck the car driven by Dixon-Bowers, which was eastbound on U.S. 6. Dixon-Bowers’ car left the road and came to a stop in a ditch, the patrol reported.

Dixon-Bowers was not wearing a seat belt. The crash remains under investigation, the patrol reported.
