LIMA — A Lima man was ejected from his car Tuesday night in an accident on Hanthorn Road.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office and Perry Township Fire and Rescue responded around 7:30 p.m. to the 3000 block of East Hanthorn Road, just east of Bowman Road. The driver, Mark Kahle, 36, was traveling eastbound and lost control while trying to pass another car.

The vehicle “started to spin counter clockwise, and struck a power pole on the right side of the vehicle, which continued rotation and struck a steel pole on the left side,” said Allen County Sheriff Sam Crish.

From there, Kahle's vehicle hit a tree, where it came to rest, Crish added. Kahle was ejected from his vehicle.

Perry Township Fire and Rescue took Kahle to Lima Memorial Health System, where he was listed in serious condition Wednesday afternoon.
