Oxley to speak at Bluffton University

LIMALima City School District Superintendent Karel Oxley will be the Bluffton University commencement speaker May 6. The ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. in Salzman Stadium.In her speech, titled “The Greatest Gift ...,” Oxley is scheduled to discuss giving one’s self to the community. Oxley, who came to the district as assistant superintendent in 2002, has been superintendent since 2003. She will retire June 30. Oxley has been active in the community, including as a member of the United Way and Lima Symphony boards of trustees and the boards of the Allen County Economic Development Group, the county’s Convention and Visitors Bureau and the West Ohio Food Bank.Before coming to Lima, Oxley worked for the Ohio Department of Education and for Fremont City School District. She has 40 years in education.
