OSHP kicks off recruiting drive

Van WertThe Ohio State Highway Patrol is having its summer recruitment kick-off at 1 p.m. Monday at the OSHP post, located at 10234 Van Wert Decatur Road.Minimum requirements to be a trooper are: U.S. citizen, age 20 to 34, hold a valid driverís license and have a high school diploma or GED diploma. To be accepted for training the applicant must take and pass a written entrance exam, background investigation, polygraph investigation, medical examination, physical fitness assessment and a psychological evaluation.The next classes for the Highway Patrol Academy are: Sept. 12, Nov. 7 and February.
