River levels top flood stage in Putnam County, expected to crest at 1 p.m.

OTTAWA Waters of the Blanchard River have climbed to flood stage near Ottawa, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana reported waters reached 24.06 feet at 7:30 a.m. this morning near Ottawa. The flood stage is 23 feet, and a moderate flood stage is at the 27-foot-marker. It's already topped the projected crest of 23.8 feet expected at 1 p.m. today.

The weather service predicted the waters would continue to fall for the remainder of the week.

Near Findlay, waters were measured at 10.93 feet at 7 a.m. this morning, where flood stage is at 11 feet.

The Auglaize River at Fort Jennings is also at flood stage, rising to 14.65 feet. Flood level is 13 feet. The expected crest was 14.4 feet at 1 p.m. today.
