LIMAAllen County commissioners recognized national Mental Health Month on Monday with a proclamation.Michael Schoenhofer, executive director of Mental Health Recovery Services Board, said the agency has had a full year, including positive interactions with the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce, law enforcement and criminal justice and schools. The agency also contributed to the building of two apartment complexes and held a summit on bath salts and opiates attended by 800 people.This year’s mental health summit Sept. 18 will focus on suicide prevention, Schoenhofer said. The event will include an appearance by Dr. Thomas Joiner, a national expert on suicide and suicide prevention. He is a member of the clinical faculty at Florida State University.
