HARROD — A 3-year-old girl was killed following a crash Sunday near Harrod.
Officials from the Lima post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said this morning that Macy S. Harp, 3, of Alger, died at Lima Memorial Health System from internal injuries sustained in the crash.
The crash happened at approximately 6:48 p.m. Sunday on state Route 309 at Phillips Road. Jonathon S. Harp, of Alger, was driving west on state Route 309 in a 2005 Ford Focus when his car struck the rear of a 2002 Ford Ranger. The collision caused the Focus to cross into the eastbound lane where it was struck by a 2004 Dodge Dakota.
Jonathon Harp was taken to Lima Memorial Health System for treatment of minor injuries. Another passenger in his vehicle, Shannon E. Harp, was taken to Nationwide Hospital in Columbus for treatment of internal injuries.
Richard L. Zeigler, of Alger, the driver of the Dodge Dakota, Douglas Harnishfager, of Dublin, the driver of the Ford Ranger, and Lesley A. Harnishfager, and Erin E. Harnishfager, both passengers in the Ranger, were all taken to St. Rita’s Medical Center.
According to troopers, alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. An investigation into seatbelt use and proper use of child restraints is ongoing.
