LIMA - A McDonald's patron on Sunday tried to sell pain pills to a store manager, then took a donation box sitting near the register.

The incident occurred at the downtown Lima McDonald's on West Market Street on Sunday.

A McDonald's store manager reported to Lima Police Department the man attempted to sell her pain pills for $1 each. After she declined, the man then ordered food. While the food order was being prepared, the man took a pair of scissors from the counter, cut the electricity cable from the credit card machine and took a clear donation box with assorted change and cash. Police were unable to locate the man.

The credit card machine is worth an estimated $400; it was unknown how much money was inside the donation box.
