Celebrating 65 years

DELTA - Donald and Phyllis Eicher of Delta are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary. On Nov. 28, 1948, Phyllis Aumend married Donald Eicher at the Delta Church of Christ. Rev. Don Poorman officiated the ceremonies.

The Eichers are lifelong residents of Delta. They built the Tastee Freeze in 1952 and operated it for eight years. They also owned and operated Family County Pride Market for 34 years until their retirement.

Don was a volunteer fireman and rescue man for the Delta Fire Department for 33 years. He served the last seven years as Rescue Chief.

The couple are blessed with three children: Douglas and Candy Eicher of Delta; Karen and David Arnos of Stryker and Bruce and Joan Eicher of Westfield, Ind. Donald and Phyllis are further blessed with eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Plans are to celebrate their anniversary with their family.
