Lima competing for food processing plant
Comments 0 | Recommend 0LIMA - A food processing company could be building in the area in the coming months.
Marcel Wagner, executive director of Allen Economic Development Group, said Lima is competing with two other sites, one in Ohio and another outside the state.
The business would be located in Gateway Industrial Park in Perry Township. Wagner would not name the business or give specifics of the project.
"It is a significant project with a substantial investment and substantial job creation," he said.
Wagner expects to know if Lima is the preferred site in the coming weeks. Construction would begin by the fall.
