In the Join The Conversation feature in The Lima News on Oct. 15, John Dixon and Joe Stone implied that they believe that Jesus wants us to help people through the United States government by paying taxes and letting the government decide who gets your charity money.
I disagree. I believe Jesus wants you to show your faith by giving your help and money to the poor and helpless directly, not through the government.
I, myself, will give my help and money to my local church or Salvation Army or just personally talk to someone that is hurting or lonely.
The tax money that we give to the U.S. government goes to places like Planned Parenthood that has aborted over one million babies in five years, the Muslim Brotherhood in the Middle East, and the United States welfare system that is more designed to break up families than to help families.
And also you liberal hypocrites want to run up the U.S. national debt, just to satisfy your own benefits now, that your kids and grandkids will have to deal with later. That sounds awful selfish to me period.
