I would like to know what the tolerance is for bullying in the local schools.
If the schools have a “zero tolerance” for bullying, they should act like it.
I have a niece who is a student at Bath Middle School. She has been a student in this system all her life. In the last several years there are three little girls that have repeatedly harassed and bullied her in multiple ways. It has been done at school, texting and through the Internet. This has been brought to the attention of the staff multiple times. The school just does not care.
School officials need to understand their jobs and realize that they are not there to be buddies with the students; they are there to teach and guide them. As parents and other family member we want to protect our children as best we can. So when they go to school and we can’t be there for them we expect the school officials to do their jobs and keep our children safe.
I am an EMT. The last type of call I want to go on is a shooting at a school or a young person committing suicide. This bullying needs to be stopped in all schools. We all need to let the schools know that we (parents, family members, etc.) have zero tolerance for the lack of protection for our childrenzero.
