We were told by the president that if the Congress raised the debt ceiling, that would not cause an increase in our debt. Technically, at that moment, his statement was true. If my credit card limit is raised, that does not mean that I owe more. When I purchase something, however, my debt is immediately increased.
That is exactly what happened when Congress removed the debt ceiling — we don't have one during this interim period. The government spent $3.84 billion the first week, raising the U.S. debt to over $17 trillion. If that is not an increase in debt, I sure would hate to see the real one. When Obama took office the debt was 10.6 trillion. that is an increase of 60%.
You can't convince me that we cant' find many ways to reduce the spending. The president has said we don't have a spending problem.Really? We need to quit sending money that we don't have to the Muslim Brotherhood and the many others that our president supports. They hate us and we aren't smart enough to realize you can't buy friendship from these people. We are either being lied to for the purpose of promoting an agenda or those pushing this spending are stupid, you choose one, I have my opinion.
