It is admirable that Dr. Ben Carson has enough courage and insight to rise above the left's racist rhetoric.

Let me be clear — Racism is a two-way street. To me, it is reverse racism to state that Carson is “reminiscent of those slaves who identified so fully with “Marse” that they lost their very selves.” Could it not be instead that a black person has enough insight to see through the left's agenda? The left wants Big Government and the tax money from the wage earners to they can redistribute the money to the “needy,” whether they be welfare cheats or women wanting an abortion. These “needy” are also, interestingly, potential voters.

Carson's view of the Affordable Care Act seems accurate to me. It is proving not to be “shovel ready.” And in talking about how to fund this top-heavy, bureaucratic mess, I notice that no mention is ever made of cutting back on our generous gifts to Middle East Islamic terrorists, or health care for drug-dealing illegal immigrants. Just keep on raising the debt ceiling.

Carson has enough sense of who he is, and of right and wrong, to not let himself be forced into the leftist mold.

The Affordable Care Act may or may not be the worst thing since slavery, to quote Carson. That remains to be seen. But the trend toward Big Government, if it continues, will end up being slavery. I hope God will continue to give us voices not afraid to speak the truth. And, let me be clear, I hope people will listen and vote accordingly, if they can find some good, honest conservatives to vote for.
