I recently drove by a billboard “Vermillion for Mayor.” He called himself a “worker bee” for all the “bees in the Lima hive” with a “stinger-like focus on Lima’s future.”
After reading the review of the first “debate” and reading The Lima News interview of the two candidates I haven’t heard any “stinger-like focus” for our future from Vermillion.
After shaking my head at the “bee” analogy I told myself I hate to vote AGAINST someone. I want to vote FOR someone.
Under Dave Berger, Lima is greatly improving the aesthetics of downtown Lima. Childers Media Group decided to move its offices on the square. John Heaphy is investing heavily in a new restaurant as did the Mediterranean restaurant, Vivace. Unlike many cities in the state, Lima is in a good financial situation.
It was Dave Berger who fought hard to save the refinery. Now they are investing millions of dollars in the facility. Lima Energy is becoming a reality. And Berger continues to fight for the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center.
Lima’s focus on the future led to the building of our new reservoir.
I want to vote for someone who has a proven record and a stated vision. Not someone who just keeps “buzzing.”
Dave Berger has my vote!
