In the future when newspapers no longer exist, the easy excuse will be that technology put them out of business. The truth is that papers cut back on coverage of topics people want to read that can't be found on the internet.
A prime example is the Sports section of The Lima News. Saturday was a perfect example of what is missing. Other than the Marion Local/Coldwater game, there was not a single word about the premier high school conference in the state — the MAC.
If The Lima News wants to keep its readers, more is better. One or two (or in Saturday's edition-none) lines about our
favorite high school team isn't going to keep us shelling out 75 cents.
