If the Affordable Care Act is so good then why wasn’t Barack Obama the very first to be online, signing him and his family up for it, and why is Congress and a whole host of others being given exemptions to it?
The fact is that it was struck down in the Supreme Court under the commerce clause. Chief Justice John Roberts said it “could” survive as a “tax.” That presents a whole different problem because it was passed by the Senate and even this numskull knows all taxes must originate in the House. That case is winding its way through the courts now.
It is not the tea party but the progressive Democrats who were responsible for the shutdown as they refused to negotiate; they turned down every bill sent by the House to fund the government.
We live in a constitutional republic, not a democracy. It is necessary to understand the difference and study the results of what democracies inevitably turn into; a few good places to start are the Greek and Roman empires.
But as with most liberals, socialists and progressives, facts and history mean little and are things to be avoided at all costs because it exposes their self-imposed ignorance and lofty aspirations for a utopia that has never, and will never, exist by anything man can do.
We were given a republic because the founders knew this very well. Obama is just another power hungry megalomaniac and history will show it someday soon.
