Four arrested in home invasion, shooting of Lima man
Comments 0 | Recommend 0LIMA - Police have taken four people into custody for their involvement in a home invasion Tuesday night where a Lima man was shot.
Lima police Lt. Jim Baker said three juveniles and an 18-year-old man were taken into custody. The three juveniles - two 16-year-old boys and one 17-year-old boy - were charged with delinquency by aggravated robbery. The adult, Marchallo Barrett, was charged with aggravated robbery.
Barrett was arraigned on the charge in Lima Municipal Court on Thursday, according to court records. Barrett is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 17.
The charges are in connection with a home invasion robbery at 548 S. Pine St. around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to police. The resident at the home, Dale Plaugher, 61, was shot inside the home during the robbery. Baker said it appears a shotgun was used, based upon Plaugher's injuries.
Plaugher was first taken to St. Rita's Medical Center. He was transferred to Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, where he is listed in stable condition, a hospital spokesman said.
The motive for the home invasion and robbery remain unclear. Police continue working to determine if Plaugher was targeted or not.
