Woman dies after Sunday accident in Mercer County

CARTHAGENA - One person has died following a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Mercer County.
Rachel M. Brackman, 21, of Fort Recovery, died at 2:44 a.m. today at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, according to the Mercer County Sheriff's Office. The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. Sunday along U.S. 127, north of Olding Road in Marion Township.
Alan M. Rinderle, 23, of St. Henry, was driving his 1998 Pontiac Firebird south on U.S. 127 when he swerved to miss a deer. The Firebird crashed into a 1992 Chevrolet pickup truck traveling north.
Rinderle, his passenger, Brackman, and the driver of the pickup, Jeremy M. Homan, 20, of St. Henry, were all taken to Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
Brackman was transferred to the hospital in Dayton by medical helicopter.
The crash remains under investigation.
