House fire causes heavy damage; no injures

AMERICAN TOWNSHIP -- An early evening fire caused extensive damage to a Berry Road residence Thursday night.
American Township Fire Capt. Joel Will said one person was at the 2387 Berry Road residence at the time of the fire, but he or she was able to get out. No injuries were reported.
Firefighters arrived at the scene around 7:30 p.m. and had the fire contained within 20 minutes.
Will said the home sustained an estimated $90,000 in damage.
