ST. MARYS - Voters in the St. Marys school district overwhelmingly turned down a request for an income and property tax.



Sixty percent of the voters turned down the request, with 40 percent approving it.



The schools asked for 5 mills additional levy and 1 percent additional income tax for five years for operational expenses. The school hopes to raise $3.25 million.
