Each general election, The Lima News provides this section profiling the candidates and issues. The Lima News sent questionnaires to every candidate in Allen, Auglaize, Hardin, Putnam and Van Wert counties for this election section. Candidates had the opportunity to give biographical information and discuss major issues in their races. Candidates also had an option to submit a photograph. Only names and residences identify candidates who did not return a questionnaire. Liberty Township - Fiscal OfficerTroy M. Moved to Liberty Township in 2000.Major issues: Residents of Liberty Township face many fiscal challenges in the months and years to come. We will have reduced funding from the state which will affect our budget. I am committed to exploring non-traditional funding methods to ensure that services to residents remain stable. However, it is possible we will have to look to cutting some line items in the budget that do not directly affect residents. My skills, education and experience make me uniquely qualified to serve in the role of fiscal officer and it is my desire that the citizens of Liberty Township retain me in this position.
