Each general election, The Lima News provides this section profiling the candidates and issues. The Lima News sent questionnaires to each organization with a levy on the ballot in Allen, Auglaize, Hardin, Putnam and Van Wert counties for this election section. Only names and basic information from the board of elections identify groups that not return a questionnaire. Minster schools - Permanent improvement renewalLevy sought: 0.8 mill renewalPurpose: Permanent improvementHow much will it raise per year for your organization? $32,000Cost of the levy to taxpayers: $3.50 a year for a $50,000 house; $7 a year for a $100,000 houseWhy does your organization need the levy? We need this levy to continue to keep our school buildings well-maintained and to keep our staff and students safe. The permanent improvement levy allows for facility improvement and repair, purchase new and replacement equipment and replace school buses. What will happen if the levy fails? These costs will need to be absorbed by the general fund and leave less money available for instruction of our students.Submitted by Laura Klosterman, treasurer
