I would appreciate your vote and support for Miller City-New Cleveland school board.Michael L. KlearParty: Non-partisanResidence: Road E, LeipsicAge: 43Relevant experience: Employed at the Putnam County Educational Service Center as attendance officer and grant writer/coordinator for over 11 years. I would take careful consideration in making decisions regarding the many issues surrounding the students, administrators, teachers and other staff members. I believe that my experience with students, teachers and administrators throughout Putnam County will assist me in the many responsibilities such as: setting district policy, adopting curriculum, goal setting, long range planning as well as establishing budgets. Our strong family values, good caring parents, hard working kids and strong commitment to the success of our school are assets we have in the Miller City-New Cleveland school district. These must be represented within the school board in assisting our students, teachers and administrators to give them the best educational system possible.Your vote is greatly appreciated. Thank you.Julie SchroederParty: Non-partisanResidence: Road 12, LeipsicAge: 43Relevant experience: 21 years of educational teaching experience, most of which have been at the fifth-grade level at Holgate Local Schools.Education: Graduated in 1986 from Holgate High School; bachelorís degree in elementary education in 1990, University of Toledo; masterís degree in education in curriculum and educational design in 2010, Bowling Green State University.Years living in area: More than 12 years at current residence.Major issues: I am extremely proud that my children attend a school district that has a current performance index ranking of 23rd out of 614 schools in the state of Ohio. My 21 years of educational experience have provided me with the background knowledge, work ethic, true commitment and effective communication skills that would allow me to be as asset as a school board member. I have actively participated on several grant-writing committees, completed extensive research on a variety of educational issues, often attend school board meetings and have become fully informed on past, current and upcoming legislation concerning all school districts in Ohio. With the recent decrease in funds appropriated by the state, which amounts to approximately $350,000 over a three-year period, I am concerned about the five-year financial forecast. As a farmland owner in the district, the possibility of a looming tax levy is disconcerting. As a fifth-grade teacher, I am running for this position to assist in maintaining an atmosphere in which decisions are based on the benefits and needs of the children, yet allowing for the interests of the residents of the Miller City-New Cleveland school district. The students at Miller City-New Cleveland deserve to keep the programs and activities that have helped make our district the excellent school that it is. I am on the ballot Nov. 8, and I would deeply appreciate your vote.Jeff Hermiller (write-in)Party: Non-partisanResidence: Miller City
