Each general election, The Lima News provides this section profiling the candidates and issues. The Lima News sent questionnaires to every candidate in Allen, Auglaize, Hardin, Putnam and Van Wert counties for this election section. Candidates had the opportunity to give biographical information and discuss major issues in their races. Candidates also had an option to submit a photograph. Only names and residences identify candidates who did not return a questionnaire. City of Kenton - MayorRicky A. DunsonParty: Non-partisanResidence: Grove Street, KentonBarry FriesParty: IndependentResidence: North Detroit Street, KentonAge: 73Relevant experience: 50 years business experience with leadership roles with large companiesEducation: High school and business clinicsYears living in area: 23Major issues: Kenton, like most small towns, must be able to survive and prosper without federal or state grants and aid. We must build or base of businesses and home ownership to achieve the level of tax income that is needed to supply city services for our residents. With over 50 years experience in business I have the talents and skills to make this happen. Although the position of mayor is a part-time job, I plan to work each day for as many hours that may be required. My web site, friesformayor.webs.com, contains explanation of the 14 items that I plan to install into the workings of the Kenton city operation.
